OUR COMMUNITY

National Lumber is proud to have called Baltimore our home for nearly a century. Throughout this time we’ve been equally as proud to support many of the local, non-profit organizations dedicated to giving back to the communities we are privileged to serve. We believe partnering with these groups, as well as several others, is some of the most important work we do and is a tradition we hope to carry on well into the future.

The Kennedy Krieger Institute, located in Baltimore, Maryland provides inpatient and outpatient medical care, community services, and school based programs for children and adolescents with learning disabilities, as well as disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system. The Institute provides services for children with developmental concerns mild to severe, and is involved in research into various disorders, including new interventions and earlier diagnosis. Every Holiday Season National Lumber is honored to assist this world-class organization by displaying Christmas Trees in the store purchased through the Institute’s “Festival of Trees” fundraising drive.

Central Scholarship began in 1924 by providing vocational training scholarships for orphaned Jewish men. They’ve since grown and now provide funding for all post-secondary education including vocational, undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees without regard to gender, religion, race or ethnicity. At its core, they help the most underserved, to give those students a chance at a better life.

The Ulman Cancer Fund changes lives by by creating a community of support for young adults and their loved ones who are impacted by cancer. National Lumber partnered with Ulman to supply various products used for the build-out of their state-of-the-art Ulman Cancer House (UCF) located near Johns Hopkins Hospital. We will continue to support Ulman as they work to positively impact the lives of young adults fighting this disease.

This Baltimore-based organization’s mission is to fund support services that improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients and their families. For every kitchen National Lumber sells, we are pleased to share with the customer a cookbook that was written by friends and family of our President’s late sister, Honey Jolson. All proceeds from this cookbook are donated to The Red Devils. Donation-based (proceeds from a kitchen sale).
